Technological “alternatives” to incarceration extend psychological torture into non-carceral spaces.

Faculty Associate Dasha Pruss and Nedah Nemati argue that technological “alternatives” to incarceration extend psychological torture beyond prisons. “These methods are designed to deprive the victim of their identity, sense of control, and ability to know who and what to trust.” They call for protections to address these harms.
